We represented a University of Central Florida (UCF) student who was facing expulsion following controversial social media comments about a former social partner – comments that quickly gained national and international media attention. The university initiated administrative disciplinary proceedings, alleging conduct violations that threatened the student’s academic standing, future opportunities and ability to graduate.
Our team guided the student through a high-stakes administrative hearing process, preparing a comprehensive defense that addressed the university’s concerns while protecting the student’s rights and reputation. After presenting a thorough case, including procedural challenges and context around the speech in question, the university dismissed all allegations. The student was fully reinstated, allowed to graduate on time, and no record of the disciplinary action or allegations was maintained.
