Trial Counsel for Elected Officials

Our firm has successfully represented several elected officials facing intense scrutiny across multiple legal and administrative fronts. In one matter, we defended a public official during a year-long investigation by the Florida Elections Commission. Following extensive administrative litigation, all claims were dismissed, clearing the client of any ethical wrongdoing.

In a separate case, we represented an official targeted for criminal prosecution over alleged violations of Florida’s Sunshine Law. After another year of aggressive litigation, all charges were dismissed, and the city was required to reimburse the client for all attorney’s fees.

We also defended an elected official in proceedings akin to impeachment, where members of a City Council sought to remove the client from office. After a trial-like hearing, the Council voted not to impose any sanctions, allowing the client to remain in their duly elected role.

We’ve also represented an official and their partner during a criminal investigation related to conduct following a council meeting. After a full review, the State Attorney’s Office declined to file any charges, bringing the matter to a close with no criminal exposure.

Across all four matters, the common outcome was clear – no charges, no sanctions, and full vindication.
